Manashakti Research Center (M.R.C.) LONAVALA, PUNE, INDIA.

The grand objective of the Manashakti Trusts is to guide about how each individual can achieve happiness and peace of mind, rationally, by sacrificing - at least partially - for the cause of society, while simultaneously fulfilling familial duties, as mentioned in the Ishaavasya Upanishad.
People get a new outlook by studying the rational New Way Philosophy put forth by the Manashakti. New Way Philosophy is a modern thought in which the Indian culture and the modern science have been beautifully merged together.
Any person once born; uses the following  for benefit and owes to them duty-full action throughout his/her life.

  1. Nature.
  2. Other people i.e. Society, including parents, relatives and friends.
  3. Own body.
But while leading routine life, usually one is hardly seen taking this debt returning need into consideration. On the other hand; one thinks and acts only for selfish goals to fetch short term happiness and the concept of happiness goes on changing. Many times; one does injustice to own body by indulging into unhealthy life style. Thus; by using the above 3 factors for own purpose, damaging them to some extent, he forgets to do his duty towards them.

Manashakti offers guidance to rectify these errors. The following prayers imbibed on mind and followed by appropriate action bring about the desired change in the life.
Prayer for Self-Reflection (For self-improvement)

“I am calling upon my internal energy and resolving to work towards my own welfare. My personality has evolved based on my behavior till today. From today on-wards, I resolve to seek only good inspiration. For the bad experiences I have had, instead of blaming others, I will myself reflect upon them. Instead of seeking false satisfaction, I will rely on courage and good wisdom. Because of this, I will gain long lasting peace and success. To the extent that I am achieving this, I am at peace now itself”.

Prayer for Self-Purification

“O eternal force representing the eternal truth!

I am the creation of my own deeds and expectations. There is no easy or false way to free myself of my deeds and expectations. Of course, with this newly found realization and knowledge, everyday my entire being is becoming purer. O eternal force, keep this positive realization, inspiration, and knowledge within me forever. Let my excessive desire be taken away. Whatever that is supposed to be mine, I surrender to the Brahma i.e. transcendent reality, and equality. Whatever that will remain will be t…..

Social Welfare (to be uttered in a group for the welfare of society, nation and universe)

Prayer for Social Service

“As the contentment in the society around me increases, my personal contentment will also increase. In my life, I have benefited from many known and unknown individuals and forces. In reciprocity, it is my duty to spend some of my energies for the benefit of known and unknown individuals and forces. The more I fulfil this duty, the more I will be delighted. I am experiencing that delight to the extent I have fulfilled my duty in my work today. May my delight grow to inspire my family, my society, my country, and whole humanity”.

Prayer for National Welfare

“This nation should become great. For this to happen, along with non-stop efforts, it is also necessary to purify our surroundings. We are combining these two aims.

May all be well with humanity!
May all be well with this nation!!
May all be well with the individual!!!”

Prayer for Welfare of the Universe

“The welfare of the universe is my constant thought.
Self-examination is my tool.
I have no enemies outside of me.
I may have some enemy inside me for sure.
Day by day, as my knowledge based work will grow,
One day the entire world will be mine.
Science and beliefs are in my skin.
Gratitude is my righteous path.
Insulting others is forbidden to me.
Peace and equality are my actions.
Inequality and corruption lead to my total destruction.
Equality and unity lead to my piousness”.

Every person wants to be happy.

The purpose of life for normal, average individual is along the following lines:

“By fulfillment of my ambition, I want to lead a life of happiness, satisfaction till my last moment in this world.”

If one accept above statement as a guide line for life journey then to effectively accomplish the same one must thoroughly understand.

1.      Me, my ambitions, my concept of happiness / enjoyment / satisfaction.
2.      My life
3.      The world in which I have to live throughout my life.
M.R.C.’s attempt is to provide guidance understand the true purpose and meaning of life on logical basis and based on the known rules of Nature. It is also an attempt to help individuals to realize their own life ambitions by a path of least resistance. Human being is a part of Universe. Our life-ambitions should be in tune with the rules of Nature. There could be no generic definition as the very concept is subjective. Moreover, it cannot be the same for everyone. In spite of this, foundations remain unchanged and very focus is to set strengthen the base.

Causality is the base for science and spirituality. Science talks of entropy whereas spirituality suggests gratitude. In short “Give and Take cycle” is believed by both. Equality, Gratitude, Causality- Co-relation are the key words ruling the Mind and Matter. Haunted with complex ideas, we are entangled in our own web. All we have to do is to have the clarity of ideas, which shall help us find our purpose and meaning of life.

Stress is a much later stage whereas complexity and restlessness of the mind are the beginnings. It’s pertinent to understand where are we going wrong at the very beginning and here, the half of the battle is won. Proper emotional and mental conditioning is the only way of leading a stress-free life or not bringing this to such a pass. However, sans understanding what goes into moulding mind, proper conditioning is unlikely.

The pursuit of happiness is the ultimate goal but for a majority, it indeed ends in a misery because to many, happiness is a mystery. Let the definition of happiness vary from person to person, all we need to know is that true contentment lies within. Balance is the key, as per the simplest law of the nature and we must be conscious of it all the time.

Eventually, life is simple but complexity and irrationality within us might be forcing us to put it in a convoluted manner. There is nothing worth getting frustrated and stressed out. Miseries and dis pleasures are a passing phase. Let us try to rework our concepts, have a fresh look at ourselves and our life ambitions. We should lead a path of action with full devotion based on knowledge. Every time when you feel like giving up, just wait a little more for the rising sun to break through the dark clouds. Cloud cover may veil it up again and again. Take a little pause and let the cloud burst for it’s a passing phase. Let rational knowledge be your chosen path. Blue sky and shining sun are always there. It’s a reality, our true self…

The message is simple. By natural inclination we all are selfish and would like to “GET’; but to be just human beings we have to “GIVE” and for that nurturing of selfless attitude is the key.

If you wish to know more, Manashakti services are always available. Manashakti Research Centre, through the pioneering research of Rev. MIND: RATIONAL FINDINGS AND CONCLUSION (W.M.M. - 10)

Excerpts from book: WHAT MIND MEANS (Author Swami Vijnananand (S.V.), Manashakti publication)

Molding mind, after a thorough search of its laws

Newton visualized mind to have been located in the brain/seat of sensation (sensorium). But once it agreed that mind, the commander-in-chief of the individual is the real ruler and remains independent of the ruled it does not help to blame it as a preposterous (utterly foolish). Instead of wasting too much energy on the side issues, concentration on molding mind, after a thorough search of its laws, proves profitable, imperative (absolutely necessary) and exigent (requiring immediate action).

(1) In a rational approach agnosticism clips (cuts) the wings of progress. It is a fact that Nature’s ways are to perplexing (complicated and confusing) to be easily perceived. We need to find a remedy to our rather poor and inferior approach to look to the Nature. If we find anything Greek and Latin (un-understandable) that is our own limitation, we should overcome it. Instead of boasting of full knowledge, let us correct ourselves instead of misleading the rest.

(2) Heisenberg admits mind, but in quantum physics, he desires to introduce quantum logic which reconciles between properties of quantum being at a place and not being there (it is true of electron that if we see it then it changes place instantaneously).
If matter (say electron) itself can stay on at one place and simultaneously at the other, mind for certain has more reason to possess such potent (mighty) power, without any contradiction.

(3) Nature nourishes no inherent contraction and casuistry (casuistry – the determination of right and wrong in question of conduct or conscience by analyzing cases that illustrate general ethics or rules). Self-illusion and false reasoning is human prerogative (exclusive right). The boastful person makes an unsuccessful attempt to ignore it and throw the burden on Nature.

(4) There was no offence meant as any stage to Marxists, monotheists (Belief that there is only one God), spiritualists, and in reality any school. But (it is strongly stated that) after all none should abuse truth itself as an undesirable impediment (obstacle). Marxists and of course Marx and Engels are referred to on and often since pin dawn their rope (details of understanding) on science. They declare to avoid dogmatism. There is no disrespect for Pavlov.

(5) Can mind ‘control’ matter or simply cause to move it? To shout loudly like braggart (boastful person) that mind control matters itself amounts to ever exceeding self-deceiving. Matter inherently has no emotions – rather it implies and teaches us ‘inertia’ – a true detachment. Confused with the unknowable laws and controversies, man feels lost and helpless. Then he goes to other extreme and in arrogance and declares that he knows everything.

It is advisable to have a little forbearance and follow the way calmly towards a serene (peaceful) solution by using the master key which is imbibed in the individual mind. Slowing down the ugly haste of the fast life, if one chooses quiescent (restful), tranquil (peaceful) and quietude (quietness) calm for progress it indeed would lead to sanguine (confident) provide (indication of future excellence or achievement).

(6) Your fascination in fast life compels you to run faster and the race ends in complete exhaustion. Real question is what you indeed should choose. Once you make up your mind and develop abhorrence (dislike) for innate (inborn) peace in preference to keep going, the ‘necessity’ presses you to run. In short interval of time you have to resort to galloping (move fast, quicker). After a while you are called upon to surpass (the speed of) wind. Then follows Nature’s demand on you to undertake yet vigorous, slippery adventures! – Never ending …, till quietus (finishing strike or eternal rest) takes the toll (to have bad effect)!!

(7) Evolution theory of ‘Mind’
The law of evolution presumes an overall all sided development of an organism tending to perfection. It is nothing but mind that qualified itself. Steps up and retains character acquired in the lower species.

(8) No mind that (enables) breaths is ever healthy and similarly no body is ailing (unhealthiness is due to mind not body).

(9) Mind (emotion) admittedly causing motion in the body. Silently, the cause-mind separates effect on body.

(10) Understanding the MIND is important.

It is high time that man need enter into immediate negotiations with mind, to bring to an end cruel hard wars (battles) he has inadvertently (unintentionally) initiated against himself since long ago (yore).

·         Mind can be in motion.
·         In the ability to sustain restless as a hyena (cruel, untrustworthy and greedy person) in an active life, mind is associated with brain, which in turn links with the entire organism.
·         Mind incorporates and/or possesses, and/or is made up of, and/or is the same as emotions, sensation, thought, knowledge, consciousness.
·         Mind independent of matter
·         Mind is non-matter which can transcend the limiting speed of matter which presently is considered as speed of light.
·         Mind in the elementary/original (primordial) form may have embraced matter.

·    Since Darwin’s thesis is stated exclusively in terms of physiological evolution forcibly divided or dis-joined from psychical evolution by his own discretion, sound in-compatible or unsuitable. The evidence provides latter (psychical evolution) as the cause of the former (physiological evolution). The theory of continuity of mind throughout the evolution renders the matter more easy and understandable.

· Individuality Presupposes Mind

· Psych and not material brain (in the head cover) is personality or individuality.

· Mind controls matter in hypnotic state or partial sleep.

· Mind is always alert, also in sleep, suggested dreams prove

· Quite Mind has greatest strength

· Dreams indicate: We may suffer without body

· Hypnotism, Dreams partial capacity of Mind to go out of body.

· ‘Mind’ independent of body.

·Thought at a given moment and also in general stands out as non-material entity.

·Control over mind can be achieved effectively by understanding laws of thermodynamics – markedly second law. The book by S.V. namely ‘Purpose of the Universe’ deals with this aspect.

·Consciousness is independent of body. (Chapter 5, based on Pavlov’s experiments)

The books written by S.V. namely,

(a) Death of disease,
(b) Cure without Medicine,
(c) Cure Yourself and
(d) The Rich, Ambitious and Healthy

Dwell-upon how maladies (chronic diseases) of any nature can be controlled by mind and mind alone. As expostulated (made earnest efforts by giving reasons for the correction of the misgivings of health treatment) there, material Universe obey, the laws of motion. Body is matter, so its inflation (swelling), deflection (deviation), dilation (enlargement of the cancers of body), diminution (reduction) or irritation (excitation) – In short, disturbance in its inertia – must be governed by basic laws of motion (which are applicable to all matters) (inertia – The property of matter by which it retains its state of rest or velocity along a straight line, so long as it is not acted upon by an external force)
When the mind has cut short its affection with the body (perceptible entities); whether the laws of matter are applicable to the human mind? (i.e. in case of a KARMAYOGI in Gita) This question is valued question. But in our above statement, this question is of no significance.

(11) Denial of existence of Mind ends in a vicious circle

Floating in the sea of doubts remains an exclusive privilege (special right) of mind. The suspicion set in about the existence of mind instigate (provoke to action) a vicious circle, with no hope of end in sight (vicious – grossly immoral, readily disposed to evil).

The reasonable, sensible (rational) and consistent acceptance of the answers (provided in this book about the mind and its existence) without the bias of previous habitual/natural inclination and notions (general understanding), survives only ray of hope to come out of the otherwise resultant vicious circle. If we forfeit (lost the right) the only gleam (dim light) of hope, the humanity (which is happy in high spirit) is as good as forced to dark ages.

It is always advisable to have scholarly docility (readiness to learn) instead of charlatanism (show of knowledge or ability), unless individual mind gives any further clue. A person in high spirit awaiting the so called ‘inner’ inspiration is unduly delaying at his own risk by denying the writing on the wall (i.e. the portent/indication of misfortune).   Such policy of procrastination (delaying) is forbidden (not allowed) for the wise people who would vote for reason (reasonable and wise people) Dialectical rationalism (logic based doctrine that take reason alone as a source of knowledge and which is independent of experience) often breeds (produces) curiosity which is impossible to satisfy and due precautions should be taken to keep it within limits.

Occasionally I (S.V.) too embrace fancies (conceptions) and conjure up (produce) a vision to picture size, weight and color of the mind. Of course firstly, it is linked up with beliefs in logic and probabilities. Secondly, should the possibilities formed turn themselves into a fairy tale, frustration is unlikely to be caused, since I am more attached to the scientific truth, than personal ego being satisfied.
Subject to this calm conviction, I dare say that the color of mind resembles the color of outer skin or like the eyes, if the organism is gifted with them.

We have drawn a conclusion in Chapter Seven, that an organism has elective capacity.

We have also made it clear that skill of mind to accumulate matter in Chapter Six and Nine (in answers to question 6 and 7).

Suppose all the present explanation later proves wrong or it calls for substantial modification, no calamity is brought forth. I (S.V.) stick to my stand that however logical by assertions, so far as complexion and mass of mind go, they are on the fence of fanciful arguments in which one or more interim premises or conclusions are silently assumed (are based on silent assumption).

(13) MIND KNOWLEDGE USED FOR SOCIAL WELFARE.

S. V. wrote + 200 books which are based on the subjects related to mind one way or the other. The NEW WAY PHILOSOPHY deals with all the aspects concerning the welfare of an individual to the welfare of entire humanity.

Besides the above mentioned book namely WHAT MIND MEANS, the other two books directly dealing with ‘mind’ are ‘MIND POWR’ AND ‘BETA PULSE PREDICTS’. We shall review these books later.

S. V. just did not stop after the publishing his new way philosophy but entered in the laboratory of the society to establish and prove his findings. All this was done in a unique manner. The outcome is the establishment of ‘Manashakti Research Center ( M. R. C.) at Lonavala, Pune India’, the unique study, research center serving all sections of societies consistently for last over 40 years. The findings of S.V. are being tested by thousands of participants every year by taking training seminars, workshops and mind – body machine tests regularly conducted by the center with missionary zeal. The center is popular for the nurture and training of mind in a secular way for all age groups. The ‘hospital for peace of mind’ serves to the needy for comprehensive holistic health.

Dr. Vijay Bhatkar, the famous computer scientist visited M. R. C. After understanding the work of S.V. said that “Swamiji has set up a novel way of testing his research findings in the huge laboratory of the society!” This is a unique way of testing the knowledge, since every individual has own distinct ‘mind’.

(Note: This is an attempt to make reader friendly interpretation of the book “WHAT MIND MEANS” based on my perception. Readers are requested to refer to the original book to cross check their understanding.)

MIND - BODY RELATION (W.M.M. - 9)

Excerpts from book: WHAT MIND MEANS (Author Swami Vijnananand, Manashakti publication).

3(e) Q.5 – How does Mind act, when it is related to body?

(i) Mind Enters Body: Larger quantum of mind energy is distributed all over the metabolism, at the inception of life" Mind is co-naturalized with motion at inception. It is interesting that as the child grows, this energy recedes.

        (Average)  Pulsation/Minute                   When

                                    150                              Before Birth
                                    140-120                       Just after birth
                                    130-115                       During the 1st year
                                    115-100                       During the 2nd year
                                    90-85                           About the 7th year
                                    85-80                           About the 14th year
                                    80-70                           Adult age
                                    70-60                           In Old age

(ii) Body returns energy to mind

Can we believe the statement that Mind lends or distributes its own energy to body and again recovers back? It looks like a paradox, but there are ample such paradoxes in nature and actual life.
Give knowledge to others. It does not diminish but increases. Nature compels vast oceans to distribute its water in the form of clouds, which pour rains on the peaks of mountains through Sun and finally the whole water (sea resources) return to sea in the form of small streams and big rivers.

(iii) Paradox –When a conditioned reflex is already elaborated its strength is subject to a relation which is designated as the law of force. That means (All other things being equal), conditioned reflex is stronger, the greater the physical strength of the conditioning stimulus.

Apparent paradox – But the fact is that – Each stimulus has a ‘strength limit’ beyond which any further strengthening of the stimulus no longer increases the intensity of the conditioned reflex evoked by it. On the contrary reduces it. How?

(iv)The role of Cerebral Cortex & TMI

The cerebral cortex reacts to supra maximal stimulus with development of inhibition. This is called ‘Trans Marginal Inhibition (TMI)’.Thus the strength of the stimulus is reduced by the TMI. The remaining strength of the stimulus varies (depend upon) the nervous system and its functional state (consequently the state of whole organism). That means that extent to which the inhibition will very (and the resultant conditioned reflex generated) depend upon the functional state of nervous system/the state of whole organism.

Trans marginal Inhibition (TMI)

Description When faced with extreme stress or pain, the body will shut down rather than allow the person to endure the physical or mental discomfort caused. Thus a person being tortured or otherwise enduring extreme hurt will fall unconscious. The body may also shut down partially, for example with loss of sight, hearing, use of limbs, etc. Factors that can lead to this state include increasing discomfort levels and increasing the unpredictability of when the discomfort will be experienced. There is a threshold level at which the shutting down happens. This threshold varies with the individual, with some people shutting down early whilst others being able to endure greater discomfort.

Discussion Trans marginal Inhibition (often abbreviated as TMI), was first identified by Ivan Pavlov in his experiments with dogs and later taken up by Carl Jung, William Sargant and others. What Pavlov found in his studies was that TMI led to a loss of previous conditioning. TMI goes through stages in which normal stimulus-response patterns are increasing changed:
Equivalent phase is where big stimuli elicit big responses and vice versa.

Paradoxical phase is where a quantity reversal appears in significant stimuli eliciting small responses and vice versa.

Ultra-paradoxical phase is where a quality reversal occurs, with negative stimuli eliciting positive responses and vice versa.

If the intensity of the conditioned stimulus exceeds a certain limit, the result is not intensification, but weakening or total inhibition (i.e. block the action) of the reflex. Simultaneous applications of two strong conditioned stimuli, each of which, taken separately produces a pronounced conditioned reflex, (finally) weakens the conditioned reflex. Cortical cells are also inhibited when the action of stimulus on the same cortical structure is frequently repeated i.e. when the same conditioned stimulus is applied repeatedly, at short interval.

(vi) Truth paradoxes:  Life is full of such curious but physical truths! We see such paradoxes (as above) when mind remains attached with matter (body) with great passion.

(vii) The mass – increase equation – When an object is moving with respect to an observer, the mass of the object becomes greater. The amount of increase depends upon the relative velocity of the object and observer. The total motion of the body stands mitigated (reduced) with aging (as seen at (i) above). This implies that the body cells are unburdened of the mass (as the life advances).

(viii) Some scientists say that the cells of the body (except the cells of the brain) constantly are in motion and may be periodically replaced. Brain cells change only slightly and it serves as fast messenger of energy, having different purpose to perform.

(ix) How energy is reclaimed (claimed again) by mind (from body) can be visualized by W.G. Walters’s description of electric potential developing in the brain (i.e. Mind uses brain as the immediate medium). The development of brain rhythm with frequency:

S. No.
Age
Rhythm with frequency cycle/sec
1.
End of First Year
5-6 cycles/sec
2.
2nd – 3rd Year
Beginning 8-13 cycle/sec – Signs of Alfa rhythm
3.
7th – 8th Year
Faster Rhythm rarely appears
4.
13th – 14th Year
The Alfa & Theta rhythms (faster rhythms) are present in varying  degree

(x) Question/Paradox – If mass increases with motion, why should the electric activity from the brain not increase the mass of the cells in the body?

Answer: (a) Deep study based observations reveals that the brain potential slowly/progressively assumes importance (at the growing age) when the rate of heart beats declines. This clue justifies ability of mind (through brain) to gain (weight or mass of) experience and learn at the cost of (loss of) motion.

(b) If the motion in the brain is dedicated to keep the body in good robust condition (by adding weigh/mass of cells), by feeding the cells, they would gain fresh lease of health. But we see that cells have limited life (at rate of 12.5cr/sec the body cells die and all body cell change in cycle of about 7 years). This shows clearly that motion in the brain and function of the rest and the body have different mission to carry out. The body has to normally supply energy to the brain rather than acquiring abnormal amount (of energy) from it. This is what we saw at the beginning of this question 5.
Simile – (a) King (brain) maintains a huge army in number (cells empire) each of the soldier (cell) has to be fit for his role, (b) King employs the soldier but the soldiers (cells) in turn give to the King (brain) service to maintain the throne and his activity.

(xi) Readers shall please note that – The rationalization relating to the mass decrease refer to quality and quantity of each cell of the body rather than the total number of cells in the body.

(xii) Mind conscious: Cell suffers, Mind gains

Knowledge gives knowledge (by untiring search and deep constant thought) but knowledge has limitations. True knowledge lies in reconnoitering (extra ordinary search) and ruminating (deep repeated thinking) over the limitations of knowledge through knowledge – Einstein.

(i)  At about age 14, the adolescent (child grown to men/women hood) reaches a state of balance (development of right-emotional brain and left logical brain is reasonably complete). Now the mind of the child assumes more conscious (aware of oneself) control.

(ii) Vanity (excessive pride in one’s own appearance, qualities, abilities, achievements, etc.) of man for recognition can be understood. But in practice it manifests (indicates) his deep desire (yearning) for enjoyment i.e. pleasure. (At age 14 this awareness is at the conscious state). In the next step of humanity is to conquer (win over) the ill haps (bad incidences) which occur to him based on limitless use of an intelligence! Thus, man (human mind) wants pleasure and he wants to ensure that he does not suffer from any displeasure) (This is all due to the emotions of mind).

(iii) We have written above a sentence about description of ‘true knowledge’ by Einstein. This is perhaps what mind achieves by inviting disease through the flesh (body).

(iv) We know as the junior grows, motion in his material body (pulse-rate) is receding. As a consequence each cell gives up mass as per the discussion in the point earlier than this (3-c-b) Quotation from Sir James Jeam “The Maurtania (A big ship of this name) fully loaded weights about 56,000 tones. When it is travelling at 25 knots motion (nautical mile) this motion increases its weight by about millionth part of ounce”. What is true of Maurtania is also true for the body cell.

(v)  Most of the cells are affected by emotions. They run unendingly with faster speeds under the influence of emotions. As we have seen mind gain mass in terms of energy and mass of the cell is affected adversely. This mass in terms of energy acquired by the mind, it appears cannot be immolated (sacrificed) in favor of the body. ‘Reason Why”? – This is not the point at issue, apparently.

(vi) Vicious circle of life
(Vicious – Grossly immoral, readily disposed to evil)

We ourselves experience and can appreciate that (normally) as a man grows old; he comprehends more and more TRUTH about the life (He also understands what should be done to go to the TRUTH). But as luck would have it, he is deprived of power of chivalrously (courage of accepting the harsh) of reality. This keeps him continuously attached to matter (maternal pleasure). Possibly then; he submits himself to vicious circle. Seemingly, the vicious circle itself, in the last analysis serves to slowly ripen and convert him into new mass – The new man has elevated mental energy. At the end of life, on becoming aware of the limitation of knowledge (intelligence) and enjoyment through cogent (believable by virtue of forcing, clear realization) reasoning above the new journey starts. The man beholds (looks at) a new lease of life (a chance to improve one’s situation or to live longer, more happy life) beyond the dark and gloomy shores and he willingly accepts extinction (death).

(vii) In a book “Will to live” (pages 27-28) Dr. Hutschnecker, M.D. gives details as to how - we die when we want to die. He says – ‘We die only when we are ready to die’,

(viii) It can safely be surmised (guessed) that emotions and disease have a definite co-relation. Human growth coincides with loss of mass for each cell and gain for mind.

3-f Q.6 – Does the mind survive after death? Is it born?

The answer to the first part of the question is categorical ‘Yes’, for detailed references of scientific authority take preamble of Chapter Six particularly the opening few paragraphs.
S.V. in ‘God Reconsidered’ and ‘Marx Proves Rebirth’ has reviewed the motion of rebirth.
Potentiality of rebirth phenomenon cannot be ruled out. On the other hand, it is not a must. If there is not left any alluring appetency (intense desire, appetite, natural tendency) and avidity (greediness, eagerness, etc.), the mechanism of reincarnation loses its applicability as well as significance. The left over intensive desires and greedy tendencies (of the mind) may be fulfilled in the eventuality of next birth. Repetition of birth perhaps affords opportunity to learn the ultimate truth in installment. The ultimate truth which says that vain (excessive egoistic) human deep desires (yearnings) can never be fulfilled.

For the one, who realizes the truth in a single span (life) the rebirth becomes redundant.

3-e (Q.7) – Is not method of auto-suggestion suggestive of mind independent of body?

Yes, that is so. Western scientists, who support duality, can employ auto suggestion without self-contradiction, irrespective of question of its effectiveness when ‘I’ in the auto suggestion pronounces a determination to body ‘I’ must be different.

If the determined word from mind “I have pledged” convert the cells in the cortex (and brings about the effect), it implies a firm faith that just the opposite words must have created (though unknown to reason) defective cells in the cortex, to create unfavorable effects on the body.

Our theory (E=D, Emotion = Disease) stands doubly verified based on the above logic. Also mind to independent of body and also it gets the impact on the body in different ways (based on the emotion or thoughts), etc.

(Note: This is an attempt to make reader friendly interpretation of the book “WHAT MIND MEANS” based on my perception. Readers are requested to refer to the original book to cross check their understanding.)
